Production Manager

The production manager will manage daily production activities, track labor utilization, coordinate schedules, and drive continuous improvement in a precision, high-technology manufacturing environment.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to

- Track cleanroom parameters for operation within spec.

- Lead and supervise a team of production technicians.

- Plan and manage daily production schedules and workflow.

- Ensure products are built to quality standards and technical specifications.

- Track labor hours, production metrics, and manufacturing performance

- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and process issues.

- Partner with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to support builds.

- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.

- Maintain accurate production documentation and reporting.

- Promote a safe, organized, and high-performance work environment.

- Coordinate remote and on-site service and repair.

- Consult with sales on factory lead-times and custom work and repair cost.

- Manage equipment repair and calibrations.

Skills/Experience Requirements

- Consult with sales on factory lead-times and custom work and repair cost.

- Manage equipment repair and calibrations.

- 3+ years of experience in production or manufacturing management.

- Experience supervising technicians or manufacturing staff with strong interpersonal skills.

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

- Experience tracking labor, scheduling production, and managing workflow.

- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Additional Considerations

- Experience in photonics, optics, electronics, or precision hardware manufacturing.

- Experience in low-volume, high-complexity production environments.

- Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing tracking systems.

- Experience with lean and/or six-sigma manufacturing practices.

- Proficiency with management and analysis tools such as kanban, pareto, box-and-whisker, MS Project or equivalent.

- Experience with cleanroom best practices.

To conform to U.S. Government technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Salary Range

$70K - $130k
